Systemic moderation in a scientific context
This training program is aimed at employees who need moderation skills for their daily work, e.g. science managers and knowledge managers, officers of the Executive Board, the departments or the KIT centers or employees of the offices of the KIT centers or the KIT faculties.
The course teaches basic theories and methods of systemic moderation in a scientific context. The training comprises 3 modules, a practical phase and a further collegial consultation.

Module 1: Basics: What exactly does systemic moderation achieve and how?
In this module, we will discuss the basics of moderation and specifically the why and how of systemic moderation. Topics will include the task, attitude and role of the moderator and a precise clarification of the assignment and objectives as an essential prerequisite for the success of a moderation. You will find references to moderation practice here, particularly with regard to the structuring of a moderation. You will learn the basics of how to use your voice in a coherent way to ensure that the moderator has a good standing.

Module 2: Advanced moderation design; methods and instruments
In this module, we will delve into the finer points of a moderation design adapted to the situation, i.e. a structure that is tailored to the moderation occasion, setting, target group and group size, objectives and content. You will get to know some of the many possible instruments and methods and at the same time be given criteria for finding the right method for a specific application. Specifics of the systemic context KIT or expert organization will be highlighted in the guest discussion.

Module 3: Interventions and solutions for special challenges; case discussions
The third module will focus on the practical questions, experiences and case studies of the participants, and we will also take a detailed look at various special challenges in facilitation. There will also be space in this module to address any outstanding concerns or questions.
