The nanos! daycare center is a company daycare center for employees of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the European Commission (Joint Research Center, JRC) and Kerntechnische Entsorgung Karlsruhe GmbH (KTE) on the North Campus. The facility is located near the entrance to the Hermann-von-Helmholtz-Platz 1 site in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen and is operated by educcare gGmbH.
The daycare center offers places for children aged 3 months to 6 years. The educational focus is on science and technology as well as movement and sport. A bilingual program with native English speakers is also offered. A large outdoor area invites children to play and explore.
Application
The service agreement stipulates that only persons whose employment contract with KIT runs for at least three months can apply for a daycare place. Employees covered and not covered by collective agreements, civil servants, full-time professors, trainees and doctoral students of KIT can apply. There are reserved places for visiting scientists and the Presidential Board if required.

Opening hours
The nanos! daycare center is currently open continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on KIT working days. The nine closing days are between Christmas and New Year, as well as on individual days throughout the year.
